of Kirkuk, Tuz, An Najaf, Samarra, Tal Afar and Mosul, returning in
February, 2005. The battalion received the Valorous Unit Award and
Meritorious Unit Commendation for its service.
The battalion redeployed to Iraq in December, 2007, returning in March
2009.
In July, 2010, the battalion deployed a third time with the 2nd Advise and
Assist Brigade, 25th Infantry Division as part of the final stages of
Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Check out this site, done by a Veteran whose son, Specialist Stephen LoPinto,
served 13 months in Iraq
with the 1st/14th. A great site, full of info on/pictures of the Golden
Dragons.
