Capt. William A. Branch
Memorials

Dad is remembered at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC at Panel 9West, Line18.  His name also appears on a monument at North Georgia College, where he got his degree in Military History, and on a plaque in the Chapel at Woodward Academy in Atlanta, where he attended High school.  This year  he will be added to the Georgia Wall, in front of the Capitol.  Places that I love.  Places that I am a part of...because they remember him well.

This is in the chapel of  Woodward Academy in Atlanta. The man who took this photo said,   "Your Dad's name is the brightest one and I'm really not sure why."  Maybe it is because someone has been touching it often after all these years...and whoever you are, I thank you.

Belleville, New Jersey

The city of Belleville dedicated a street in honor of Capt. William A. Branch, killed in action near Cu Chi, Vietnam.  Jen Branch Denard, daughter of Capt. Branch, her husband John, and children Eli, Owen and Emma were present for the ceremony.

Also in attendance were former 1Lt. Michael Walsh, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Vietnam), and his wife Darielle, as well as Belleville city councilmen, city police, and others.

The ceremony started with Eli and Owen leading The Pledge of Allegiance.  Then the Belleville councilman, who had organized the event, gave a brief biography of Capt. Branch.  Attendees were able to visit the home where Capt. Branch first lived.  Afterwards, participants retired to the American Legion hall for pizza, donated by the local pizzeria, and a chance to visit with the honored guests, Jen and her family.
