ROBERT DOTY
friend and fellow medic
a recollection
There were four medics who came to be close friends as we all started in the field at approximately the same time. Myself, Bob Goodwin, Bob Gillick and of course Neil. We gave him the nickname "NOAH" because we all thought the comedy routine of Bill Cosby's take off on "Noah and the Ark" was so funny. A dry rice paddy we had set up camp in flooded during the night due to blowing the wrong dike and we awoke in about one foot of water and Neil, in a loud whisper, said, "Noah I want you to build an Ark." Everybody laughed - what a guy.
