B Co reports 9 mortar rounds landing between 300-800 meters away. Bn CO requests a ship for VR if ceiling allows
8 0240 C Co reports 3 VC passing their position on an azimuth of 6400 mils 9 0255 1/8th Arty 105mm was firing in area, have check fire in effect. 10 0300 Manchu informed 2/14 that the wire around the perimeter is being probed and the stand to is still in effect (3/13th Arty area and north end report movements). 11 0345 Lofty 33 reports stand to down to 50% alert 20 0620 B Co requests 2 boxes of C-4 to come out on extraction ship. 21 0645 C Co requested to know how far they could advance. Reply was up to WASHINGTON. More information to follow. 22 0720 Called Viking on ETA of light gun team 23 0723 Dragon 6 asked about hold-up on resupply 24 0725 Gun team on station 25 0727 Dragon Vravo inquired about M-60 in for maint. 26 0825 B co began their movement. 27 0850 B Co reports finding 2 bicycles at XT503326, will destroy. 28 0850 A & C Co began their move. 29 0956 B Co reports having 1 US WIA from hand grenade booby-trap with trip wire at coord 500323, requests dustoff. 32 1057 4/9 have contact at coord XT490347, will put in air strike 34 1215 Air strike coordinated by Issue 14 and Dragon 6. 36 1230 C Co reports finding a tunnel complex, tunnel is being explored. Have gone to a depth of 100 meters, tunnel is getting bigger. XT500336 37 1338 B Co reports receiving approx 6 rounds SA fire at XT496323. Called in Arty. 38 1615 Air strike for 2/14th Inf began at 1530 hrs at XT501323, completed 1615 hrs. 47 1913 B Co request for resupply: 1 case C-4, 1 roll of time fuse, 1 box blasting caps, 1 case smoke, 4 claymores, 25 fuse lighters 48 1938 C Co request for resupply: 2 cases C-4, 200 ft det cord, 10 ft of time fuse, 12 shaped charges, 5 tubes of ointment, 5 morphine syrettes, 1 case smoke, cleaning patches, oil, 2 helmet liners, 1 jungle fatigue pants (small/med), 2 Bangalore torpedoes, 1 accessory pack. 49 1945 A Co resupply request: 1 demo kit complete 51 2015 B Co resupply request: 1 jungle fatigue pants (small/reg), 6 tubes ointment 52 2027 Manchu TOC put stand down conditions in effect. 55 2055 A claymore detonated outside of base camp by VC, no further information. 56 2110 Claymore was aimed at 4/9 Inf Radar bunker in Arty sector, 3/13 Arty is firing H&I's into the area. 60 2158 4/9 Inf reports bunker line spotted a figure crawling along a dike at vic XT456267, was engaged by bunker line with neg results. 61 2205 Maj Boyd informed 2/14 TOC that C Co is receiving SA and grenades by an estimated 3-4 VC. 62 2211 A Co reports that he is receiving carbine fire from his north. 63 2250 C co reports 3 VC in area 25 meters from C Co position, VC were engaged with SA, M-60 and hand grenades. 1 VC moaned when engaged and they ran east out of the area. Search of area showed negative body. Will search again in the morning. 64 2250 A Co reports they received 6 rounds carbine fire, but no longer in contact with enemy. 67 2305 A Co LP received 6 SA sniper rounds but they could not detect the direction, fire was not returned.
