A Co detected movement on other side of canal 73, will engage with M-79.  Movement too far out for M-79 fire.

61 0622 C Co reports destroying the following on 15 Apr 67:  10 squad-size concrete and steel reinforced bunkers, 12 squad size bunkers, 36 spider holes, 11 grass and straw hooches
62 0912 C Co found a rice cache southeast of 3K, details to follow.
66 0930 Ref Item 62:  C Co found approx 2 tons of rice at XS642871, will be evac to base camp.
67 0945 Recon left FFL in search of area where base camp received recoilless rifle round from.

1. Operational Summary

  a.  General:  2/14th Inf continued to defend in sector at the forward base camp vic Ben Luc.  Five LP's were conducted during the hours of darkness and security was maintained throughout the perimeter.  2/14th Inf (-) continued their advance perpendicular to canal systems DDD to KKK in vic coordinates XS6487 and XS6387 in AO ST GEORGE to destroy VC fortifications, facilities and interdict supply routes.  At approximately 151100H, Co A was heli-lifted to vic coord XS635878 to replace Co B in the AO and continued to S&D in sector.  Co B was heli-lifted from vic coordinates XS635878 to 2/14th Inf forward base camp for security and continued to improve their defensive positions.  Two 105mm howitzer batteries and the heavy mortar platoon continued to fire in direct support of the battalion's operation.  In addition, the Engr and Recon platoons cleared the road from the forward base camp to Ben Luc.
