From S3 to 3rd Bde: Rec'd 3 rounds mortar fire vic the airstrip, have taken counter-mortar action, no friendly casualties.

From 2/77 to 33: 2/77 command bunker reports 1 incoming mortar round at 0145 hrs.
4 0257 S3 to 3rd Bde: 2/14 Inf received 3 incoming rounds, probably 57mm recoilless rifle, at 0257 hours. Round landed in C Co's weapons platoon area. No friendly casualties. C Co also reports bunkers 4 & 5 reported 1 dud round landing between their positions and 1 live round near the swimming pool. 15 0940 From 3rd Bde to S3: Rounds received last night were 75mm recoilless rifle rounds and not 57mm recoilless rifle or 60mm mortar rounds. 17 1005 From EOD Team to 33: Requested permission to blow (3) 75mm recoilless rifle rounds duds. Arty gave permission. Site of blowing will be Laterite Pit. 32 1700 C Co progress report: Filled and stacked 600 sandbags around test. 33 1800 From S3 to Bde: Reference Letter 1st Bde 25th Inf Div, dtd 22 Feb 67, subject Quotas for Lightning Ambush Academy. A rifle platoon from C Co departed Dau Tieng Base Camp on the morning of 28 Feb 67 enroute to Cu Chi to attend the Lightning Ambush Academy Class #83 beginning on 1 Mar and ending on 5 Mar 67. Also a TOE rifle squad from Co A 2/14th Inf was furnished to the Ambush Academy for demonstration purposes from the 1st Mar 67 to 2 Apr 67. They also left on 28 Feb 67 for Cu Chi.

From G3: 3rd Bde 4th Div was under mortar attack (10 rounds) and an outpost with SA. Results unk. Enemy broke contact at 0100 hrs.

C/4/9 at old Laterite pit vic XT670152 saw 8 personnel. Threw gas, called for Arty illumination. Personnel moved outside perimeter.
13 1130 From G2: Chieu Hoi from 1st Div indicates a weapons cache vic XT649280 in a concrete tunnel approx 1 kilometer long. Cache consists of one 81mm mortar with 250 rounds ammo and six Russian carbines. Chieu Hoi will take US troops to cache. Div G2 is trying to secure Chieu Hoi. 14 1232 B/4/9 (Ann Margaret security force) received 4 rounds of 81mm fire at 1130 hrs. Direction of fire unknown. No casualties. 1st round landed 250 meters from 1st strand of wire. 3 rounds landed in 1st strand of wire. Additional rounds landed vic XT675174. 14 1323 Ref Item 14: Info received from Arty indicates short rounds from 4.2 mortars (friendly). 15 1615 Delayed Entry 1050 hrs: B/4/23 one man stepped on AP mine, 1 WIA vic XT531149, dustoff was called, completed at 1100 hrs. 16 1620 Delayed Entry 1155 hrs: B/4/23 APC hit AT mine XT531149. No casualties, no vehicle damage. 24 2055 65th Engr bunker 20, 1 person stuck in wire. 25 2100 4/9 bunker line heard shooting from the Laterite pit. Pit reported no shooting. 28 2225 2/27 reports vic XT645164 man inside wire shooting flares and M-79. 34 2400 SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued security opns vic Cu Chi base camp. 4/9 Inf conducted security opns vic Cu Chi base camp and provided one company as Div Base Reaction Force. 4/9 Inf assumed responsibility for OP Ann Margaret at 011600 March. 4/23 Inf conducted security opns vic Cu Chi base camp and detached one company to 3/4 Cav for S&D mission vic XT5215.
PLANS SUMMARY: 1st Bde will continue to control the defense of Cu Chi base perimeter. 4/9 Inf will conduct a company size S&D opn in FILHOL Plantation. 4/23 continues security opn vic Cu Chi base camp.
