18	0820	From Co C to 33:  Assigned strength in the field:  4 officers, 110 EM; attachments 1 officer and 10 EM.  Deployable strength is 5 officers and 120 EM.
21	0950	Dustoff requested for 1 US wounded with foot wound by 2/14 Inf.
27	1140	Patrol 1 C Co reports 5 armed VC in fatigues at coord XS 755697.  Arty being called into the area, VC were taken under small arms fire.
28	1300	S3 to Bde:  Patrol 1 returned to FFL at approx 1235 hrs, was debriefed by S2 personnel, then were instructed by Bn S3 to go out at approx 1315 hrs and establish an ambush vic XS 752693.  Results of debriefing are as follows:  At approx 191140 hrs Patrol sighted 5 individuals in tiger suits, one of which was wearing a bush hat.  These five individuals were met by an individual wearing a white suit (pajama type) who accompanied them in the area.  As the 5 individuals came into area XS 754697 they opened fire on patrol 1 with rifle grenades and small arms fire.  Patrol returned fire with small arms and artillery was called in.  The six individuals then departed area to the southeast.  A search of the area was made with negative results.

55	2015	Patrol 2 C Co reports 1 VC KIA (Poss) at XS 745684 by Arty.

13	1005	3rd Airborne Bn reports approx 100 bunkers and booby-traps vic XS7085 and XS7086.  1 detainee was picked up vic XS709853 and 2 detainees picked up vic XS709863.  2 AP mines found vic XS709852.
17	1200	C/2/14 patrol 1 spotted 5 armed VC in fatigues vic XS755697, engaged with Arty and SA fire.  Results unk.
22	1635	4/9 requested dustoff for 1 man from Engineers, accidentally hit in head with sledge hammer.
23	1640	C/4/9 CHECKMATE at XS730798, closed with 4 detainees.
27	1745	4/9 Recon platoon picked up 1 detainee at XS711783.
29	1820	4/9 Recon picked up 7 detainees at XS711783, returned to Binh Chanh for interrogation.
32	2005	C/2/14 patrol 2 receiving SA fire from XS745684, requested Arty.  Results 1 VC KIA (Poss).
33	2020	4/9 base camp at Binh Chanh received 2 rounds sniper fire at 1810 hrs, no casualties.
37	2400	SUMMARY:  1st Bde continues opns FAIRFAX and LANIKAI.  ASCC's remain established at Ben Luc, Binh Chanh, Rach Kien, Tan An and Gia Dinh.  4/9 Inf Bn continues joint BUDDY opns with 3rd ARVN Airborne Bn fwd and mutually supporting base remain established at XS684851 (A/4/9) and XS698845, (3rd ARVN Airborne Bn).  A/4/9 conducted 2 platoon sweeps south and established 2 stay-behind ambushes vic XS668824 and XS674818.  3rd ARVN Airborne Bn conducted Eagle flight into LZs.  2/14 Inf Bn stood down today and conducted local security around the Rach Kien base. PLANS SUMMARY:  4/9 Inf Bn will continue FAIRFAX with security opns and patrolling around the base area.  Co C will conduct Eagle flight at a time TBA.  2/14 Inf Bn will conduct local security opns in the Rach Kien area.
