5	0330	Received info on 4/9 opn for 11 Dec 66. Recon platoon conduct raid against unit vic XS702798 beginning at 1235 hrs. One platoon from Co B conduct airmobile raid vic XS717777. Beginning at 1235 hrs. Co A(-) conduct airmobile raid vic XS782761. Beginning at 1250.
27	0950	2/14 convoy closed Ben Luc XS629765
29	1051	4/9 reports LRRP engaged 6 VC vic XS794777 with SA, in return they received heavy SA and AW fire from the north. No US casualties. Extraction aircraft are on the way.
41	1136	B/4/9 apprehended 1 detainee vic XS717777. Individual identified by a VCS that B/4/9 took with them. Detainee attempted to disguise himself as a monk. Will be evacuated to Binh Chanh for interrogation.
66	2155	A/4/9 fwd reports movement unk number of VC vic coord XS699799. Being taken under fire with Arty. Also C/4/9 reports movement in bushes XS757773, also being taken under fire 81mm mortar.
72	2400	SUMMARY: The 1st Bde continued opn FAIRFAX and LANIKAI and conducted security opns in its forward and rear bases. 4/9 Inf continued FAIRFAX with 3 airmobile S&D BUDDY opns in Binh Chanh District. 3 detainees were apprehended for evacuation and interrogation. The 2/14 Inf continues LANIKAI with ambush and security opns in Ben Luc and Cu Chi districts. Bn CP and HHC (-) moved to Ben Luc by convoy. PLANS SUMMARY: 4/9 Inf will continue FAIRFAX with BUDDY opns. 2/14 will continue LANIKAI with ambush and security opns in the Ben Luc area.
