27	1020	G2 reports VIA from 25th ARVN aircraft rec'd SA fire from vic XS623882, also on 5 Dec (15) VC spotted in this area wearing steel helmets and uniforms.
37	1415	2/14 will test fire 50 Cal. MG from bunker line, direction of fire to northeast of Ann Margaret, will finish within 30 minutes.
33	1430	B/4/23 rec'd unk nbr SA rounds from unknown nbr VC from XS665742. No casualties, unit returned fire with SA and Arty, VC broke contact, results unk.
43	1639	4/23 informed this HQ that dustoff was completed for Vietnamese national, his house was hit by friendly 60mm mortar.
45	1750	B/4/23 rec'd unk nbr rounds from (1) SA and (1) AW. No casualties, fire returned with Arty. Results unk. XS665745.
63	2015	B/4/9 loc vic XS811797 receiving SA, AW and recoilless rifle fire from east of position. Details to follow.
68	2150	Delayed Entry 1945: 4/9 heard two explosions vic XS717780. Investigation indicated a claymore had been detonated against PF patrol departing forward base area. PF sustained 5 WIA.
71	2215	Ref Item 63: B/4/9 loc XS811797 rec'd SA, AW and RR fire from vic XS774777. Approx size of force unk, light gun team, flare ship and dustoff dispatched to area. Results 3 US WIA, 2 ARVN WIA. Firing ceased at 2100 hrs and dustoff completed at 2125 hrs.
73	2225	A/4/23 patrol was alerted by scout dog vic XS615775. Patrol holding in that vic. No contact.
79	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued opns FAIRFAX, LANIKAI, and continued security and ambush opns. 4/9 Inf continued FAIRFAX with three S&D BUDDY opns. 2/14 Inf conducted security and ambush opns in Cu Chi base area. 4/23 Inf continued LANIKAI and conducted S&D BUDDY opn vic XS6674. A MEDCAP was also conducted XS644770. PLANS SUMMARY: 4/9 Inf (FAIRFAX) will conduct company size BUDDY opns vic XS7479, XS7678 and XS8179. 2/14 Inf continued local security and ambush opns and one company size (Co B) S&D opn in FILHOL Plantation vic XT6718. 4/23 Inf (LANIKAI) continues Co B S&D BUDDY opn vic XS6674. Unit returns to Ben Luc 081630.
