47	1830	C/2/14 had man hit by lightning while talking on telephone, man evac to dispensary, unconscious but breathing. Almost all telephones on bunker line are out, radio contact with bunker line, will notify when land lines are operational.
64	2400	SUMMARY: The 1st Bde continued Opn LANIKAI in Long An and Gia Dinh Provinces, conducted ambush opns in FILHOL Plantation and conducted base security and ambush operations vic Cu Chi and Ben Luc base camp areas. 4/9 Inf continued local security opns in Cu Chi base area and continued construction of Binh Chanh base. C/4/9 moved by convoy from Cu Chi to Binh Chanh closing at 0830 hrs. 2/14 Inf conducted local security and ambush opns in FILHOL Plantation. 4/23 Inf continued opns in LANIKAI AO I. C/4/23 with GVN National Police conducted saturation ambushes vic XS5976, the opn terminated at 0900 with 2 contacts. ASCC's continued at Tan An, Ben Luc and Binh Chanh. One USAF CAS mission was flown in support of 1st Bde security opn resulting in 2 VC structures destroyed. 4/9 Inf will move to Binh Chanh with Co B, B Btry 7/11 Arty and HHC (-) by convoy at 010700 Dec 66. Opn LANIKAI AO 2 becomes Opn FAIRFAX at 010001 Dec 66. 2/14 Inf will conduct S&D Opn in the FILHOL Plantation with Co B moving at 010630 Dec 66 to an obj area vic XT670195. A stay-behind ambush will be left vic 682178 and XT676179. 4/23 Inf will continue Opn LANIKAI wit CHECKMATE BUDDY Opn vic XS612778 and XS635784, a platoon from Co A & C respectively and (2) squads ARVN.
