45	0830	Notified 2/14 LRRP is out of area and can test fire weapons now. LRRP will not go out this afternoon.
47	0850	3/4 Cav with 4/23 after getting tracks unstuck on move back to fwd base. Track hit AT mine at XT739165, no casualties, will tow back to fwd base for repair, rest of Cav short of blocking psn, waiting for end of air strike at XT 739165.
53	0942	A/4/23 picked up female VCS in LZ 753203, evac to fwd B/C for interrogation. Also found misc radio equip. Exact items unknown, will be evac.
56	1020	Delayed Entry 0930: A/4/23 reports 2 aircraft took hits, number unknown from XT 753204. SA fire.
57	1021	Delayed Entry 0930: A/4/23 found vic LZ 752205 (1) male KIA, 1 male VCS WIA, (2) female WIA. Results from air strike or Arty prep. Informed to take to 7th Surgical, MI will meet them there.
58	1045	C/4/9 checked 22 boats at 626783. Detained (1) VCS of 94 persons checked. 28 RAG checked 86 boats, no one detained. Extracted by RAG boats.
59	1105	A/4/23 located 200 lbs salt vic 753204, destroyed in place.
63	1215	APC that was damaged this morning with 4/23 will be evac back to Cu Chi at approx 1400 hrs. AVLB will be put in place at that time.
64	1220	A/4/23 found 1 rifle at XT751201 believed to be 9mm.
65	1230	A/4/23 found (1) rifle, est 9mm, (1) pistol belt, (3) grenades, (1) sleeping bag, (1) 1st aid pouch at XT 751201. Being evacuated.
66	1300	A/4/23 aircraft extracting rice took (1) hit from SA fire vic XT 753204. No damage.
69	1330	Message to 2/14 & 4/23 to leave patrols outside perimeter in position until 231200.
72	1358	Delayed Entry 1320: A/4/23 rec (3) rounds sniper fire from undetermined no VC from XT 742202. (1) friendly WIA, returned fire, results unknown. WIA was evacuated by resupply aircraft to 7th Surgical.
74	1430	A/4/23 received fire from front and flank, more into to follow.
75	1440	A/4/23 requested dustoff for 2 litter patients as a result of SA fire. LZ vic 746199. Also requested gunships to escort dustoff into area.
77	1510	Dustoff on station over A/4/23 location. Weather and sniper fire on LZ interfering with dustoff mission. Gunships also on station.
79	1540	Dustoff returned for one more WIA from HQ 4/23 and to pick up his gunner that was left behind on the first pickup, completed this time.
81	1603	Immediate air strike requested at 746202 immediately after extraction of A/4/23.
83	1620	One of the ships extracting A/4/23 hit with SA fire on LZ, down on LZ. Dustoff requested for 1 WIA from chopper (pilot).
84	1635	2/14 notified to prepare 1 company on 30 min standby to assist A/4/23 if needed.
85	1640	Pilot that was wounded was picked up by Hornet A/C. Dustoff no longer required.
87	1650	Ref A/4/23 action: When choppers went in with first flight of aircraft, an aircraft was hit on the ground (not with mortar). Partial extraction accomplished. A/4/23 is securing grounded aircraft.
92	1800	Fighters scrambled for air strike on target A/4/23 operational area vic LZ XT 746193.
93	1810	Chopper that was downed was lifted out with CH-47
96	1835	Extraction of remainder of A/4/23 started. Two aircraft down in LZ.
99	1910	Center of mass for A/4/23 elements on ground securing 2 downed aircraft 741198.
100	1915	Informed that there was another chopper down, total of 3. Exact location of 3rd chopper not known. This chopper was forced down by mechanical failure. There is no contact with 3rd chopper. Word came from Div Aviation office that 3rd chopper is in the same location as te other two. Also there are 3 WIA's at the fwd location. Dustoff is standing by to evacuate.
105	2015	B/4/23 fwd platoon dispatched to reinforce A/4/23.
106	2020	4/23 have located third downed aircraft in vicinity of other two.
110	2140	4/23 fwd have located a forth chopper. It is down in vic of XT745201.
111	2145	A/4/23 are receiving mortar fire XT 745204. 1 or 2 rds.
114	2230	Delayed Entry 2220: A/4/23 had 4 WIA, 1 DOW. All were evacuated at 2005 hrs XT 742198.
115	2245	C/4/23 patrol reports that 3 rds of rifle grenades or mortars about 200 meters in front of radar site at XS673147.
116	2250	Delayed Entry 2000: C/4/23 radar sighted 4-5 people at XT 679148 and moving in toward bunker line.
120	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued Opn LANIKAI (4/9 Inf) and KALIHI (2/14 Inf and 4/23 Inf). 4/9 Inf conducted an airmobile assault on LZ vic XS628779. 2/14 Inf conducted local security and defense of OP Ann Margaret. 4/23 Inf conducted an airmobile assault on LZ vic XT 751205.
