17	0650	2/14: Resupply extraction complete.
26	0832	2/14 started moving at 0830, B Co is destroying a tunnel XT690166. 4 ft x 4 ft x 20 ft long.
27	0835	A/1/5 Patrol is presently loc XT627193 and are moving by foot along road thru Bao Cap to Ann Margaret.
28	0850	C/4/9 receiving sniper fire between LZ1 and LZ5. Called in Arty.
29	0850	4/9 observed sampan South to West at XS584783. Request air strike on west bank of canal.
30	0910	RAG elements dispatched to area to check bomb.
31	0910	3/4 Cav received 4-5 rds of sniper fire approx 30 meters to their right front XT690173 at 0900 hrs.
35	1000	2/14 Fwd element TF loc XT702180, one track 3/4 Cav hit mine, damaged two road wheels. Track is being pulled into ARVN compound. Destroyed AT mine at same loc.
37	1010	B/2/14 received 5-6 rds sniper fire. Est 3 VC from XT702176, returned fire with SA, checking area.
38	1030	C/4/23 located approx 600 lbs rice at XT740166. Destroyed.
39	1058	B/2/14 reports (Ref Log 37) one VC KIA (Poss)
41	1130	Ref Log 28: 4/9 has picked up 7 VCS.
44	1200	Info: VC 2nd Lt from 2nd Bn, 165th A rallied to the 49th ARVN Regt on 17-Oct-66. The individual had one 9mm pistol with ammo, and trained political cadre in other districts. Showed units location of tunnels and rice cache (2 tons) vic XT695109 and XT706103.
45	1201	2/14 Dustoff requested for one man from 3/4 Cav with broken leg XT714188.
47	1245	B and C Co 2/14 apprehended 37 VCS XT713184 to XT714188. Individuals have been turned over to ARVN.
48	1305	2/14 Recon made contact with 2 VC at XT687167. 1 VC WIA, he moved out NE on road and the other disappeared. In checking area found 1 assault rifle.
49	1315	2/14 picked up a 17-year-old boy XT713184. Looked like he had been hit with M-79. Medic treated him and turned him over to ARVN.
56	1445	4/9 at 1400 hrs A/4/9 had men crossing stream at XS603787 moving N to S. Sampan overturned (1) man last seen clutching boat, now unaccounted for. Put rubber boat into water, still searching for man.
57	1520	2/14 has 1 WIA, result of tripping trip-wired booby-trapped hand grenade at XT692168. Called Dustoff.
62	1710	Delayed Entry: Dragon resupply commenced 1405 hrs.
63	1735	A/4/9 closing BC with one man listed as missing.
69	1950	G3 authorized 4/9 fwd to utilize CS gas 21 Oct 66.
82	2104	2/14 reports Phu Hao Dong received (2) 60mm mortar rds at 2103 hrs, neg casualties.
85	2115	B/4/23 patrol 1 spotted (2) VC at XT722153, fired S/A at VC. Results unk. Firing illumination now.
87	2201	B/4/23 patrol 1 pulled back to fwd base as listening post, will check contact area at first light.
93	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued Opn LANIKAI (4/9) and KALIHI (2/14 and 4/23). 4/9 conducted BUDDY Opn with 3/50 ARVN, (7) VCS captured by 28 RAG. 2/14 continued opn KALIHI with BUDDY Opn with 1/7 ARVN. (38) VCS captured and turned over to ARVN. (1) VC KIA (Poss). 4/23 continued Opn KALIHI with S&D Opn. (5) air strikes were flown in support of Opn KALIHI with 2 bunkers destroyed, 1 sampan destroyed and 1 structure destroyed.

2	0745	Rec Cas Rept Battle WIA Co B 2/14 Martinez-Lopes, Aribal SP4 E4 191445 Oct 66. XT692168. Deafness both ears. Injured by concussion when friendly mortar round hit APC EM was riding in.
4	1540	Submitted monthly mileage report to Div IG: HHC, 1st Bde - 10,760; 4/9 - 32,720; 2/14 - 20,019; 4/23 - 34,209 Total 97,708.
9	1740	Div SGM Leyden called and notified this HQs to have CPT McQuillen, 2/14, report to Div tomorrow, 21 Oct, at 1345 hrs for an interview to be an aide for Gen. Seaman.
11	1800	Notified 2/14 and 4/9 that they will supply 20 men for on-post shotgun detail for the S&T Bn tomorrow.
