5	0110	Delayed Entry 110913 Oct 66: (1) man from B/4/9 was hit in arm by unknown projectile, evacuated to 7th Surgical Hospital.
17	0352	B/4/23 personnel on bunker 13 rpt that when they fired M-79 at 0335 they heard a scream from vic of impact. No other activity noted.
37	0737	B/4/9 picked up first boat at 0720 vic XS583764. Boat was man-powered sampan containing 6 persons (man, wife, and 4 children) and cargo was Tapioca and Bananas. Destination was Ben Luc.
38	0740	4/9 reports due to heavy traffic on river a second CHECKMATE will be established vic XS580768.
41	0800	Plat 3/50 ARVN found (1) fatigue jacket, (1) bayonet & (1) carbine magazine at XS 585764 on ground.
43	0810	C/2/14 lift (1st) off at 0805, and 2nd lift 0809.
44	0815	A/2/14 patrol 2 closed B/C at 0805.
45	0818	C/2/14 second lift on ground neg contact, platoon 3/4 Cav P.L. RED, trouble with 1 veh., will not start, may have to tow to B/C.
46	0830	C/2/14 thrid lift off 0825 to LZ BLUE, complete 0835.
49	0850	C/2/14 started move from BLUE to BIRD. Cav ptl still 500 meters from RED, disabled veh has been repaired, still unsticking veh, will join C/2/14 at BIRD.
52	0920	2/14 notified to place (1) plat into 690165 at 131500 & remain in psn overnight.
81	1710	2/14 rpts chopper on resupply for 2/14 fwd element rec 8-10 rounds of S/A fire from east side of river vic 672242 speed 80 knows alt 1500 ft time 1650.
83	1735	Delayed Entry: 4/9 rear called and requested EOD to dispose of 60mm dud found in front of bunker 7 at laterite pit. EOD contacted, will dispose of it.
87	1825	Resupply for 2/14 complete 1800 hrs.
89	1851	Delayed Entry: 2/14 disarmed a grenade booby-trap at XT667238.
100	2040	2/14 patrol 1, 3 and 4 in psn.
113	2400	SUMMARY: 1st Bde continued Opn KALIHI (2/14 & 4/23 Inf) in the FILHOL Plantation. Opn LANIKAI (4/9 Inf) at Ben Luc. 4/9 conducted a BUDDY Opn with B/4/9 and 3/50 RVN (-) conducting a CHECKMATE vic XS580768. 2/14 Inf conducted heliborne assault LZ 1 vic XT690210 with 1 Co (+) & 4/23 Inf conducted a plt size S&D Opn vic XT657186. PLANS SUMMARY: 4/9 Inf will conduct a BUDDY Opn with C/4/9 and 3/50 RVN (-). CHECKMATE Opn vic XS635796. 2/14 Inf will continue Opn KALIHI in the FILHOL Plantation vic XT 6522, 6523, 6622. 4/23 will conduct S&D vic XT 6914.
