From Med to S3: Man from A Co was bitten on finger of left hand by what is thought to have been a poisonous snake, and the man's head is swelling. Duty officer is sending ambulance to pick man up.

From Med to S3: SP6 Page reported that the man that was bitten by a snake was SP4 Manuel Cruz-Garcia from A Co, bitten at 0115 hrs while lying in bed. Was treated at 2/14 Med at 0130 hrs then picked up byu 196th Med. Prognosis good.
Initial log entries contain hourly sit/rep, and reports of patrols leaving ambush sites and arriving back at base camp. All negative contact.

16 0915 From Med 2/14 (SP6 Page) to S3: Further check on status of SP4 Manuel Cruz-Garcia shows that EM was probably stung by a scorpion. 24 1412 From Medics 2/14 to S3: PFC Steve Ceal of C Co has puncture wound in foot caused by throwing a knife. He has been sent to 196th Inf clearing center. 25 1435 196th Bde S3 to S3: 2/14 Inf has permission to use ARVN range vic XT191516 as requested by Lt Friend on 2,3,4 Sep 66 27 1730 Delayed Entry: Co C, 2/1 Inf was relieved from attachment to 2/14th Inf at 0600 hrs. and was replaced on perimeter defense by Co. B, 2/1 Inf at that time. Co B 2/1 Inf attached 2/1 Inf at 0600 hrs, 1 Sept 66. 33 1845 From Capt. Murphy to A Co, C Co., B 2/1st Inf: Tomorrow is a VC holiday, all units are to be especially watchful tonight. 34 1845 S3 to 196th Inf: Land line to 196th Inf is inoperative. All communications between 196th Inf and 2/14th Inf will be accomplished by radio until land line communications is reestablished. 35 1850 Patrol 1 is in staging area. 38 1918 Land line communications with 196th Inf was reestablished at 1918 hrs. 40 2000 From SP6 Page to Capt Murphy: Doctor Brown, our new Bn. Surgeon, will arrive at this location tomorrow morning in time for MEDCAP
