From Patrols #1 & 2: to S3: Patrol #1 leaving position 0603, Patrol #2 leaving position 0604.
8 0610 From S3 to Bde: Left 1st Bde Net and entered 196th Bde Command Net. 12 0712 From Co A/1/5 Inf (M) to S3: Co A, 1/5 (M) requested permission to leave 2/14 Inf FM Radio Command Net. 13 0742 Bn XO (Maj Whitener) arrived Bn CP from Cu Chi by helicopter. 14 0806 Entac departed Base Camp on security mission for Philippine survey party at 0800 hrs. 15 1000 From Liberator 3 (Capt Shouse) to Lawyer 3: The area of responsibility on the perimeter has been extended out to 5000 meters from FFL trace. 16 1100 From S3 to S3 196th Bde: Operations Sgt called 196th Bde S3 Sec (Sgt Brown) regarding the Point of Origin System to be used by 2/14 Inf when reporting locations to 196th Bde. Was informed by Sgt Brown that system used by 1st Bde 25th Div would continue in effect until approx 1800 hours today. 196th Bde is publishing new Point of Origin system to be effective approx 1800 hours today. 17 1135 From S3 to Msg Center: Dispatched Patrol reports (2), Hq 2/14 Inf, dtd 31 Aug 66 thru Msg Center to 196th Bde S3 for patrols closing FFL morning of 31 Aug 66. 18 1155 From 196th Bde S3 to S3: Road condition RED 19 1205 Col Murray 196th Bde to S3: A Bn Commander's meeting will be held every day at 1600 hours at 196th Bde TOC. 20 1300 From 196th Bde S3 to S3: Road Conditions are now green. 21 1400 From 196th Bde to S3: Road condition RED as of 1400 hrs. 22 1410 From Capt Murphy to Capt McQuillen: An engineer bulldozer will level ARVN berm in front of your bunker line. Be aware that the berm may be mined; keep your personnel away from berm and have them take cover. 23 1438 From S3 to Msg Center: Dispatched Patrol Plan, Hq 2/14 Inf, dtd 311330 Aug 66 to Meg Center for distribution. 24 1725 From S-4 to S-3: Vehicle status report: All present and accounted for as of 1725 hrs. Report to 196th Bde not required as per Capt Benkewiez. 25 1740 From S-3 to 196th Inf; Entac element on security mission with the Philippine Survey Party closed in OAHU Base as of 1740 hours. 26 1755 Patrol #1 leaving FFL as of 1755 hrs. 28 1812 Patrol 1 reports that he has run into friendly patrol from 4/31 Inf elements. 29 1815 From S-2 to S-3: A woman and 2 men apprehended at approx 1715 hrs vic coord XT 174517 were turned over to 196th Inf S-2 at approx 1730 hrs. 30 1818 From S-3 to 196th Inf: Dispatched to 196th Inf Daily Sitrep for period 301801 Aug 66 to 311800 Aug 66 by vehicular messenger at 1818 hrs. 31 1825 Patrol 1 in staging area as of 1825 hrs. 34 2005 Patrol 1 leaving staging area as of 2005 hrs. 35 2045 From 196th Inf to S-3: Effective 2045 hrs all units will change to the first alternate password. 36 2045 From CO, Co A to S3: Incoming rifle grenade received in Co A 2/14 Inf 1st platoon vic XT 170513. No friendly casualties. 37 2051 Patrol 1 in position.
