Wire is to be straight line from bunker to bunker unless there is a cemetery or something which can't be cut through. Right limit of fire 30% left limit 350% 38 1505 S3: Notified HHC, B Co, C Co, S1, S4, Commo of 1630 hours briefing today at Bn CP 39 1500 Charlie: Completed firing and closed base camp 41 1535 Bde: Aircraft downed at coordinates 072517. Co C was ordered to round up a platoon as soon as possible for possible move to above location by 2/14 Inf S3 42 1600 Hornet 24: Troops from C/2/14 Inf loading as of 1556 43 1603 Hornet 24: The flight is off, enroute to downed aircraft location 44 1606 Viking 3: There is an armed unit in boats coming from south to north with about 63 people. They are part of downed aircraft operation 45 1614 Dragon 4: Told us to inform B6 that he couldn't get the additional pickets requested 46 1615 CO Co C: Helicopter loaded of C Co is on the ground with armed aircraft except for about 4 men which first helicopter could not carry 47 1619 Hornet 3: Plat ldr is on the ground at downed aircraft location 48 1627 Bde S3: River portion of downed aircraft rescue mission has been cancelled 49 1700 Bde: Sitrep rigging crew is on the ground with negative contact. None of the rounds were incoming. Rounds sound as if they are from the ARVN outpost vic of the rifle range 71 2100 DC5: Lights have been spotted at coord XT172525, request instructions. Bde rpts 2 patrols in that area, do not fire unless they have a definite target 74 2115 DP 2: 2 Personnel are heading toward teh patrol position. Personnel are out about 15 meters 75 2117 DP2: 2 personnel are heading toward the patrol position, Personnel are out 150 m. Instructed to apprehend the 2 persons if possible, keep them under surveillance and capture or kill 80 2230 Patrol 2 reports loss of contact with 2 personnel previously reported

A/4/9 rear received 2 hand grenades at bunker FACO XT66148, laterite pit, no casualties, returned fire with M-79 & S/A neg results.

4/9 reported 7/11 A Btry, received one claymore. No casualties. Exploded vic 396395. 100 meters outside perimeter
36 1005 1/5 Mech recd light sniper fire, rtd fire w/50 cal and SA, neg results 37 1038 B/4/9 destroyed 5 bags fertilizer, 1 bunker, 7 houses, 200 lbs rice 53 1543 HU-1D down at 072517 crew and passengers extracted. Dispatching 1 plt (43) personnel to secure downed aircraft. Reported by downed aircraft to Viking 14. Security force to be airlifted by 6 HU-1D to site of downed aircraft. Security force fm 2/14. Aircraft down to to mechanical failure. FAC and 1 gunship covering ship 55 1601 B/4/9 picked up 8 persons (3 males) are being evac to District Chief. also 4 bicycles, med supplies, mostly vitamins 60 1705 7/11 Arty FO rptd roadblocks loc XT318047 (5 trees across road), XT310548 (mounds of dirt), XT312548 (2 trees across road), 1 trench line XT318047 61 1734 HU-1D has been extracted and troops will follow shortly. 62 1742 2/14 rpts security element on downed chopper is airborne at 1740 64 1745 2/14 rptd all C/2/14 elements present and accounted for 85 2143 2/14 patrol 2 rpts there are 2 individuals approx 150 meters to the front of psn, keeping under observation 90 2237 2/14 patrol 2 lost contact with 2 individuals in item 85 91 2245 A/2/14 (Rear) rpts at 1300 plat with attached Engr team destroyed a minefield at XT664175. It was composed of 15 AT mines, and 3 booby trapped M26 frag grenades. Engr team est each mine contained approx 20 lbs of explosive 94 2350 Received info of suspected VC Hqs at XT 191598
