Recon plt reports a loud explosion approx 75 meters in front of their bunker number 3, there were no casualties and no action taken. Continuing to observe the area, notified S-3 and Bde. Place - Laterite Pit

Laterite Pit reports: Chicom claymore set up between 2 houses and in pile of brush. Recovered 1 leg and 3 pellets. Bunker needs rebuilding, no casualties. RR-6 recommends National Police search houses in area as they are occupied at this time loc 673145
42 0755 From arty LNO 81mm firing off to the right of Ann Margaret 42 0755 Capt Fleming granted permission to fire small arms at 1030 hrs 43 0440 Capt Fleming call from Bde and wanted to know what the big explosions were in front of 2/14 area - they want to know when the EOD people were requested, how many duds. Bde had no knowledge of duds in that area 44 0950 4/9 called and said Maj Thompson was going out in front of the bunker line in the 4/9 area left flank and wanted our bunker line notified 45 1000 To 4/9 notified that 2/14 will be test firing at 1030 hrs in front of bunker 19 outside of the wire line 46 1038 From Sgt Srimer the EOD will explode another dud in a few minutes 47 1038 Dragon 2 is on his way to the Laterite Pit 50 1204 Notified EOD team, Also has 2 81mm mortar duds, 1 M-79 and 1 M-79 lodged in barrel 53 1311 Received word from C Co that 3/4 Cav removed the 3 tanks and replaced them with 2 more 61 1655 OP A/M reported hearing a chopping sound about 50 m in wood line to their left, sent squad to investigate. Requested permission to fire M-79 and small arms. 62 1703 C Co requested to have a new patrol leader briefed for tonight's patrol, old patrol leader is sick 63 1755 Recon reports his position number 3 reports fire to his front, he was not being fired on but there was activity out there 67 1844 C Co requested permission to fire3 one round from tank that had round stuck, said they had removed stuck round, permission given 84 2325 S&A reports they had 1 anti-intrusion device set off, they are setting off illumination, have nothing yet.
