14th Internments: 1856 - 1952
STONES:
WHERE DRAGONS LAY
By Robert Wilson
|
|
Stones are much more than the place where dragons lay. They tell the story of previously
anonymous men of the 14th Infantry who did their final duty as members of the regiment,
or who wished to be remembered as members of the regiment.
|
The National Cemeteries at San Francisco and Los Angeles provide the final resting-place
for most of them. These two cemeteries are important for more than that. They tell two
different stories about two different times in the regiment's history.
|
|
It is hoped that by bringing these men out from
anonymity, they will live on in regimental history as soldiers who
did
their duty, even through death. We continue to search for the untold thousands of
former 14th Infantrymen
who still lie in anonymity. Robert H Wilson
