PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
May 7, 2014
Dear Fellow Golden Dragons,
Once again our annual reunion is fast coming upon us. This
year I hope to see as many of you as possible in Seattle, where we
will join our comrades of the 25th Infantry Division Association for
a five-day reunion at the Seattle Airport Marriott Hotel.
It’s always a pleasure to get together with others who shared the
same or similar experiences in World War II, Korea, peacetime,
Vietnam and the current era. Regardless of era served in, we
are all brothers in arms.
The Internet is a wonderful tool for recruiting new chapter members.
When you are online with your 14th Infantry buddies, ask them to
join the chapter. Registration information is here on this
website.
The 25th Division Association has planned several activities for the
reunion, including a tour of the Boeing factory and a Seattle
Mariners vs. Houston Astros ball game. For those who have
their own transportation or plan to rent a car, there are numerous
historic and natural wonders to see in the Seattle area.
Next year’s reunion will be combined with the 4th Infantry Division
Association in Springfield, Illinois. This will be an
opportunity to get the 1st Battalion Golden Dragons who served with
the Ivy Division back together again with the 2nd Battalion Dragons
who served with the 25th Division. Please mark your calendars
for this historic event.
Items of interest to Golden Dragons will be for sale at the Parallel
PX operated by Rich Ruozzi. Posters of the 14th Infantry in
action during the Boxer Rebellion with CPL Calvin P. Titus holding
the colors atop a wall surrounding Peking, China in 1900, will be
for sale. A framed copy will be auctioned during our business
meeting.
I look forward to seeing you all at our reunion.
Golden Dragons, Sir!
