a great honor to have been elected
to serve as president of the 14th Infantry chapter of the 25th
Infantry Division Association. I'm looking forward to
supporting our division association by helping this membership
grow, and in doing so, our chapter will grow.
We all need to wear our division in chapter colors as
often as possible. When you come in contact with a
Golden Dragon, be prepared to give them a division membership
form like the one in Flashes. Carry a form with you at
all times. By increasing the division membership, the
14th Infantry chapter should also grow. Also, remember
the division reunion in Hawaii in 2021. This is a great
recruiting tool. It is everyone's duty to recruit.
At our chapter meeting of 9/11/19, we agreed that we need to
recruit younger members. This is something we all must
try to do. I encourage each member to visit veteran's
organizations such as the VFW, American Legion, the DAV, and
AMVETS, and recruit. Use any means you can think of to
get Golden Dragons together.
I'm still considering trying to organize one or more
mid-year 14th Infantry Regiment reunions or gatherings,
hopefully in April, 2020, and at a Central US location.
It may take a couple of get-togethers at different times and
places. We also agreed at that meeting that all Golden
Dragons are welcome regardless of the division they were in or
are currently a part of. Remember, this will be a 14th
Infantry function and not a 25th Infantry Division sponsored
event, so we'll have to fend for ourselves.
